Oudenaarde captivated by the Tour (2 April 2017)

For the sixth year in a row, Oudenaarde is the proud host city of the finish of ‘Flanders' Finest’, the Tour of Flanders. Winners Tom Boonen in 2012, Fabian Cancellara in 2013 and 2014, Alexander Kristoff in 2015 and Peter Sagan in 2016 all sent the town and the surrounding area into raptures. We are already looking forward to seeing who will write his name on the trophy on the Tour's 101st edition.

Download here the brochure with all the info you need.

If you go between de Markt and the finish zone you will see the cyclists 5 times live and you will also get a whole load of amusement on top. You can park in the industrial area De Bruwaan: follow the signs from Ghent on the N60 or coming from the E17 / Kruishoutem on the N459. From there, you can take shuttle A from 9.30am to the back of the station to reach de Markt. From 11.30am to 2pm you can take the shuttle from De Bruwaan to the finish zone.

PUBLIC VILLAGE AT FINISH ZONE

In the finish zone, several big screens will be set up so that you don't miss a moment of the race. The biggest screen (100 m2) will be in the public village at the finish. There is also a screen in the youth zone. Along the route, the biggest draws will be the screens at the top of Koppenberg, Kruisberg and Kwaremont, and at the foot of Paterberg.

The Tour of Flanders promises to be a party once again. It is not only the riders, but also the public that make the race: so experience the finish from the front row in the new public village on Minderbroedersstraat (an initiative of Flanders Classics and the Municipality of Oudenaarde).

When? From 1.00pm, after the men have past
What? An atmospheric public zone near the finish line of Flanders' finest.
Offer: the village will be a real experience, with food and drink stands, children's entertainment, toilet facilities, a star marquee… So a good atmosphere is guaranteed!  Furthermore the biggest screen &nbsp at the Tour of Flanders will be in the public village, at the finish.

Free shuttle bus and parking

Take the free shuttle bus that departs between 11.30am and 2.00pm from the industrial area De Bruwaan (reachable via the N60, by the roundabout at Samsonite Oudenaarde). You can park for free in the big public car park (follow the signs). Get off at Stop A8 (see map); from there follow the signs to the public zone (approx. 500 m) or to the young people's zone (approx. 100m). The buses go back to De Bruwaan between 5.00pm and 7.30pm. Of course you can also use the other public car parks in the centre and then walk to the public zone. Plenty of bike parking facilities will also be provided.

Youth zone

The youth zone is an initiative of the youth association KSA Oudenaarde and Canavia, in collaboration with Oudenaarde's Young People's Service. In this zone there are also food and drink stands, toilets, entertainment and a big screen that is along the whole route! Everyone is welcome (especially young people of course)!
